WBAI LSB Meeting — March 4, 2004

This second WBAI Local Station Board (LSB) meeting was held on Thursday, March 4, 2004, at 6:30 PM at DC 1707, 75 Varick Street in Manhattan on the 14th floor. This is not an official Web page of the LSB.

It started out with our second Pacifica delegates' meeting which had to be held because of the screwup in the previous meeting where someone who was nominated to be a director was not allowed onto the ballot because of the erroneous belief that nominations needed a second.

Nominated for director were:

Ray Laforest
Miguel Maldonaldo
Alice Shields
Paul DeRienzo

The voting went as follows:

Ray Laforest 9 votes
Miguel Maldonaldo 7 votes
Alice Shields 6 votes
Paul DeRienzo 1 vote

So the same folks got elected this time as got elected the last time.

The actual LSB meeting started immediately after the delegates' meeting ended. I put out a newsletter for the WBAI Staff summarizing it.

Those directors we elected got to go to the Pacifica National Board (PNB) meeting later in March. Staff delegate and PNB director Roger Manning has his notes on the PNB meeting here. If you're really, and I mean really, interested in every detail of the March 12-14, 2004, PNB meeting you can listen to every last bit of it here.

You can listen to the sound recording of the March 4, 2004 WBAI LSB meeting by going here.

Here are the approved minutes for this meeting in Microsoft Word format.

This LSB went into executive session. Here are the minutes of that executive session portion of that meeting. The bottom line is that a prominent WBAI personality took the cash receipts of WBAI's Riverside 9/11 event and gave them to someone he knew. After the LSB began an investigation into this the money was returned to the station, eight months after it had been taken.
