At 8:31 PM on Friday night we got a call telling us that due to technical difficulties the switch was not in fact happening on Saturday morning.

It's no surprise that there would be difficulties doing the switch. Radio stations usually have a lot more time to get this detailed technical work done. When WBAI moved from 505 Eighth Ave. to 120 Wall St. in 1998, we had six months to do the technical work and build out the space. The Engineering Dept. had maybe a couple of weeks this time, and Verizon had reportedly not gotten the lines from CCNY to the Empire State Building, where WBAI's transmitter is located, installed on time.

And then we all got this notice.
